synappro

What makes synappro different?

We build science-based wellbeing tools that are genuinely accessible. Everything we create is grounded in peer-reviewed research and designed to be free or fairly priced. We think the people who need support most should never be the ones who can least afford it.

Is synappro science-based?

Science is the foundation of everything we build. Our science page lists the peer-reviewed studies that inform our work, and our blog explores the research in more depth.

Where are you based?

synappro is based in London, United Kingdom.

What does the synappro name mean?

synappro is named after two ideas: synapse and progress. A synapse is the junction between two neurons, the point where signals pass across the mind and body, making possible every thought, feeling and physical response. Progress refers to neuroplasticity: the brain's ability to rewire itself through knowledge, habit and experience.

The name reflects what we believe: that understanding the science of your own mind and body is what motivates lasting change.

synappro breathe

Is synappro breathe free? Do I need an account?

synappro breathe is completely free to download and use. All the core features are included at no cost, with no subscriptions and no hidden charges. There is also an optional one-off upgrade called synappro plus, but that is entirely your choice.

There is no login and no sign-up. The app works straight away on your device. Nothing to create, nothing to share.

How is my data handled?

We do not collect any personal data at all. The only data we collect is completely anonymous and is never linked to your identity. It helps us understand how the app is being used so we can keep improving it. If you would prefer not to share even that, you can turn it off in Settings → Terms and Data → Anonymous analytics.

What can I customise?

The app comes with three pre-programmed breathing cycles, each based on published research and designed for a different purpose. You can also create one custom cycle for free, setting the duration of each stage up to 60 seconds. Unlimited custom cycles come with synappro plus.

For the look, you can switch between light mode, dark mode, or follow your phone's system setting. synappro plus unlocks two additional colour themes and alternative app icons.

Mood tracking and the consistency tracker are both optional. You can turn either off in settings at any time.

Which devices does it work on?

synappro breathe is available on iPhone and iPad. Your breathing cycles and activity history sync automatically across your devices using iCloud. It is not currently available on Android. Bringing the app to Android is something we genuinely want to do, and we will share updates as soon as we have them.

Does synappro breathe work with Apple Health?

Apple Health syncing is available if you want it. When enabled, your sessions are recorded as Mindful Minutes directly by Apple. That data stays entirely within Apple Health and cannot be accessed by synappro breathe.

What is synappro plus?

synappro plus is a one-off purchase of £3.99 that unlocks additional colour themes, alternative app icons and unlimited custom breathing cycles. It includes all future updates, and buying it supports ongoing development, which helps us keep the core app free for everyone.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store, so any refund request for synappro plus needs to be made directly through Apple.

If you are unhappy with our apps, we would genuinely like your feedback so we can improve them.

How can I support the app or leave feedback?

The best ways to support synappro breathe are to buy synappro plus, leave a review on the App Store, or share the app with someone who might find it useful. Every review and recommendation makes a difference.

If you have feedback, there is a form built into the app, or you can reach us through the contact form. We read everything.
